According to the author Kevin Shortt of Ubisoft, the Ubisoft Montreal studio is working hard on the third part of Far Cry. While we thought that Far Cry 3 will take place again in Africa, a new post by IncGamers says the opposite.

An internal source of the development studio has mentionend that Far Cry 3 won't play in Africa any more.

We're still in very early development and we have no idea where it's going to be set, but I'm pretty sure that it won't be in Africa

Far Cry 2 Hardcore Mode and Patch soon

written by on 06.02.2009 at 18:46 | Comments (1)

We have received an announcement of Ubisoft today where they are talking about a new patch and a new Multiplayer Mode, the "Hardcore"-Mode.

The "Hardcore"-Mode will be available on all platforms, PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Because of many community requests of a more realistic game there is the answer. But what is the so called "Hardcore"-Mode?

  • A new damage model will be applied with increased damage for all weapons.
  • All weapons have been rebalanced on normal mode, and on hardcore mode.
  • Enemy names will disappear after the spawning invincibility period is over (A shield is displayed above a player’s head for a few second to show that he is invincible).
  • A new option will allow you to tweak spawning time (but not spawning rate).
  • A new search option will be available in multiplayer to allow you to find games that are playing on hardcore mode.
